The Challenge
Painted concrete pool deck from 2003 — chipping paint, slippery surface, outdated tan coping. Pool contractor said resurface only, not replace. Needed to stay within existing footprint.
Our Approach
Removed all chipping paint, applied cool-deck base coat, installed 1x2 travertine tile overlay throughout, replaced coping with matching travertine tumbled edge. Non-slip finish, heat resistant, 25-year material warranty.
The Outcome
Pool deck is unrecognizable. The travertine overlay keeps the surface 30% cooler than the previous painted concrete. Zero slipping incidents since installation. Guests consistently think the pool was renovated.
This pool deck was completed in Reston, VA — South Lakes. P&L Outdoor Solutions serves homeowners across Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley — including Leesburg, Ashburn, McLean, Great Falls, and more.

“Same pool footprint, completely different look. The travertine is a game changer — cooler on bare feet, doesn't slip, and looks expensive. Victor made our 2003 pool look brand new.”
We were told we had to do a full concrete replacement. Victor showed us the overlay option and it was half the cost with a better result. His knowledge saved us $25,000.

“Three contractors told us they couldn't handle the HOA part. Victor said "we do this all the time" — and he did. The HOA approved it in under 3 weeks. The build itself was flawless.”
